The ESXi version 5.5 driver CD includes version 3.8.2 of the Micron driver named mtip32xx_native, which enables support for products: Micron RealSSD P320h PCIe controller (Device ID 1344:5150), and Micron RealSSD P420m PCIe controller (Device ID 1344:5161). Change Summary: * Due to special power fail safety data from qualification of P420m, the driver has been modified to limit the number of outstanding unaligned write requests from 8 to 2. This change guarantees power fail safety for writes that begin or end on a non-4K aligned LBA. This change only affects P420m devices, P320h devices are NOT limited on outstanding unaligned writes. * SMART reporting via ATA Pass Through support has been removed. This was done to avoid erronous SMART data interpretation due to variations in firmware for certain SKU's of the product. The proper mechanism for requesting SMART data is through the SMART Management Plugin interface. * Various critical issues were fixed regarding corner case behaviors related to hot plug removal, sudden switch to write protect and over temp, and extreme device reset + RSSDM + heavy IO stress cases.
